| Ukraine 1922 |
To understand the current
situation in Ukraine we must go back to December of 1922, when this country
together with Russia and other thirteen more republics formed part of the USSR
(United Socialist Soviet Republics) which had a one-party and communist
government. However, the 24th of August 1991, the Ukrainian
parliament approved the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine, establishing it
as an independent and democratic state. It was in November of 2013, when rejecting its president joining with the
European Union (having a democratic state) and wanting to establish closer
links with Russia, protests and riots began in the country, leading to a very
conflicting situation and finding ourselves daily news as the one shown above.
